Before Using

Allergic reaction

Tell your family doctor if you have any unusual or allergy to zafirlukast.

Pregnancy care

Zafirlukast has not been studied in pregnant women. Studies in pets have shown that this drug causes problems only when given in doses many times higher than the usual human dose.

Breast-feeding problem

Zafirlukast passes into breast milk and may cause unwanted effects in nursing babies. Breast-feeding is not recommended while you are taking zafirlukast.

Use for Children

Studies on this drug have been done only in adult diseaseds and there is no special info comparing use of zafirlukast in child up to 7 years of age with use in other age groups.

Elderly care

In studies, mild to moderate respiratory tract infections were more likely to occur in diseaseds 55 years of age or older taking zafirlukast. It is not known whether these infections were causing by taking zafirlukast or by other factors.

Drug interactions
