Before Using
In deciding to using a medication,

Allergic reaction
Tell your family doctor if you have any unusual or
allergy to vidarabine. Also tell your health care professional if
you are allergic to any other substances, such as preservatives.
Pregnancy care
Studies have not been done. Studies in
rats and rabbits have shown that vidarabine, given by injection, causes birth
defects. In addition, studies in rabbits have shown that vidarabine, applied
as a 10% ointment to the skin, may cause birth defects or other problems.
However, these doses are much higher than those using in the eyes of humans.
Therefore, the risk that vidarabine ophthalmic ointment would cause birth
defects or other problems is very small.
Breast-feeding problem
It is not known whether vidarabine, applied to
the eyes, is absorbed into the body and passes into the breast milk. Although
most medication pass into breast milk in small amounts, many of them may be
using safely while breast-feeding. Mothers who are taking this drug and
who wish to breast-feed must discuss this with their family doctor.
Use for Children
Although there is no special info comparing
use of vidarabine in child with use in other age groups, it is not expected
to cause various side effects or problems in child than it does in adults.
Elderly care
Many medication have not been studied specifically
in elderly people. Therefore, it may not be known whether they work exactly
the same way they do in adults people or if they cause various side effects
or problems in elderly people. There is no special info comparing use
of vidarabine in the elderly with use in other age groups.
Drug interactions
Although certain medication must not be using
