Before Using

Allergic reaction

Tell your family doctor if you have any unusual or allergic reaction to valacyclovir or acyclovir. Also tell your health care professional if you are allergic to any other substances, such as foods, sulfites or other preservatives, or dyes.

Pregnancy care

Adequate and well-controlled studies have not been done with valacyclovir or acyclovir. However, acyclovir has been using in pregnant women and has not been reported to cause birth defects or other problems.

Breast-feeding problem

It is not known whether valacyclovir passes into breast milk. However, acyclovir does pass into breast milk but has not been reported to cause problems in nursing babies.

Use for Children

Studies on this drug have been done only in adult diseaseds. There is no special info comparing use of valacyclovir in child with use in other age groups.

Elderly care

Valacyclovir has been using in elderly diseaseds and has not been shown to cause various side effects or problems in elderly people than it does in adults people. Elderly diseaseds are at a high risk for dehydration and must drink plenty of fluids.

Drug interactions

Although certain medication must not be using together at all, in other cases two various medication may be using together even if an interaction might occur. In these cases, your family doctor may want to change your dose or other precautions may be necessary. Advanced human immunodeficiency virus - HIV infection
Bone marrow transplantation
Kidney transplantation Patients with these medical problems may have an increased risk of severe side effects

Kidney disease Kidney disease may increase blood levels of this drug, increasing the risk of side effects
