Before Having This Test
In deciding to use a diagnostic test, the chance of the test must be weighed

For tuberculin PPD, the following must be considered
Allergic reaction
Tell your family doctor if you have any unusual or
allergy to tuberculin PPD. Also tell your health care professional
if you are allergic to any other substances, such as foods, preservatives,
or dyes.
Pregnancy care
Studies on the effects in pregnancy have not been
done in either humans or pets. However, pregnancy may effect your reaction
to the test. Before you receive tuberculin PPD, make sure your family doctor knows
if you are pregnant or if you may become pregnant.
Breast-feeding problem
It is not known whether tuberculin PPD passes into
the breast milk. However, tuberculin PPD has not been reported to cause problems
in nursing babies.
Use for Children
Although there is no special info comparing
use of tuberculin PPD in child with use in other age groups, this diagnostic
test is not expected to cause various side effects or problems in child
than it does in adults.
Elderly care
Reactions to tuberculin PPD in older diseaseds may
be more likely to develop slowly and may not reach the peak effect until after
72 hours.
Drug interactions
Although certain medication must not be using
