How to Use

If you are injecting this drug yourself, use it exactly as directed by your family doctor. Special patient directions come with teriparatide injection. Read the directions carefully before using the drug. Make sure you understand:

• Where to give the injection
• How to give the injection.
• How long the injection is stable

If you have any questions about any of this, check with your health care professional.

Do not use if you see solid particles in the liquid.

Do not use if past the expiration date on package.

For the first few doses of teriparatide, inject the drug where you can sit or lie down right away if you get dizzy.

Dosage

• For subcutaneous injection dosage form:
  • For osteoporosis:
    • Adults 20 micrograms - mcg once daily, injected into the thigh or abdominal wall
    • Children Teriparatide is not recommended for use in child

Missed dose If you miss a dose of this drug, take it as soon as possible on that day. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses - do not take more than one injection in the same day.

Storage To store this drug:

• Keep out of the reach of children.
• Store away from direct light.
• Store the prefilled pen of teriparatide in the refrigerator. Do not freeze. Do not use the drug if it has been frozen.
• Do not keep outdated drug or drug no longer needed. Discard the teriparatide pen 28 days after the first injection, even if there is still drug in it. Be sure that any discarded drug is out of the reach of children.
