Before Using

Pregnancy care

Studies with hydralazine have not been done. However, studies in mice have shown that hydralazine causes birth defects - cleft palate, defects in head and face bones; these birth defects may also occur in rabbits, but do not occur in rats. Be sure that you have discussed this with your family doctor before taking this drug.

Breast-feeding problem

Reserpine passes into breast milk and may cause unwanted effects - difficult breathing, low temperature, loss of appetite in infants of mothers taking large doses of it. Hydrochlorothiazide also passes into breast milk. Be sure you have discussed this with your family doctor before taking this drug.

Use for Children

Although there is no special info comparing use of this drug in child with use in other age groups, this drug is not expected to cause various side effects or problems in child than it does in adults.

Elderly care

Many medication have not been studied specifically in elderly people. Therefore, it may not be known whether they work exactly the same way they do in adults people. Although there is no special info comparing use of reserpine, hydralazine and hydrochlorothiazide combination in the elderly with use in other age groups, this drug is not expected to cause various side effects or problems in elderly people than it does in adults people. However, drowsiness, dizziness, or faintness, or symptoms of too much potassium loss may be more likely to occur in the elderly, who are usually more sensitive to the effects of this drug. Always this drug may reduce tolerance to cold temperatures in elderly diseaseds.
