Before Using
In deciding to using a medication,
the chance of taking the drug must be weighed against the good it will

the following must be considered
Allergic reaction
Tell your family doctor if you have any unusual or
allergy to pentoxifylline or to other xanthines such as aminophylline,
caffeine, dyphylline, ethylenediamine - contained in aminophylline, oxtriphylline,
theobromine, or theophylline. Also tell your health care professional if you
are allergic to any other substances, such as foods, preservatives, or dyes.
Pregnancy care
Pentoxifylline has not been studied in pregnant women.
Studies in pets have not shown that it causes birth defects. However, at
very high doses it has causing other harmful effects. Before taking this drug,
make sure your family doctor knows if you are pregnant or if you may become pregnant.
Breast-feeding problem
Pentoxifylline passes into breast milk. The drug
has not been reported to cause problems in nursing babies. However, pentoxifylline
has causing noncancerous tumors in pets when given for a long time in doses
much larger than those using. Therefore, your family doctor may not want
you to breast-feed while taking it. Be sure that you discuss the chance and
benefits of this drug with your family doctor.
Use for Children
Studies on this drug have been done only in adult
diseaseds and there is no special info comparing use of pentoxifylline
in child with use in other age groups.
Elderly care
Side effects may be more likely to occur in the elderly,
who are usually more sensitive than adults people to the effects of pentoxifylline.
Drug interactions
Although certain medication must not be using
together at all, in other cases two various medication may be using together
even if an interaction might occur. In these cases, your family doctor may want to
change the dose, or other precautions may be necessary. When you are taking
pentoxifylline, it is important that your health care professional know if
