How to Use
Take this
drug on an empty stomach - at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals
and at least 1 hour before or after any other food, milk, or drug. Always
always take it with a full glass - 8 ounces of water.
Sometimes pentosan must be taken for up to 3 to 6 months before you begin
to feel better. Your family doctor must check your progress at regular appointments during
this time.
Dosage
The dose of pentosan will be various for
various diseaseds
Follow your family doctor's orders or the
directions on the label
. The following information includes only the
average doses of pentosan
If your dose is various,
do not change it
unless your family doctor tells you to do so.

For oral
dosage form - capsules:

To treat interstitial cystitis:

Adults 100 milligrams - mg three times a day for three months.
Your family doctor may tell you to repeat this dose.

Children Use and dose must be determined by your family doctor.
Missed dose If you miss a dose of this drug, take it as
soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the
missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage To store this drug:

Keep out of the reach of children.

Store away from heat and direct light.

Do not store in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink, or in other
damp places. Heat or moisture may cause the drug to break down.

Keep the drug from freezing. Do not refrigerate.

Do not keep outdated drug or drug no longer needed. Be sure
that any discarded drug is out of the reach of children.
