Along with its needing effects, pentagastrin may cause some unwanted effects. Although the side effects usually are rare, when they do occur they may require medical attention.
Check with your health care professional immediately if either of the following side effects occurs:
Rare
Skin rash or hives
More common side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects must go away as the effects of the drug wear off. However, check with your family doctor if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome:
More common - usually disappear within 15 minutes after injection
Gas; nausea or vomiting; stomach pain; urge to have bowel movement
Less common or rare
Blurred vision; chills; dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness; drowsiness; fast heartbeat; feeling of heaviness of arms and legs; headache; increased sweating; numbness, tingling, pain, or weakness in hands or feet; shortness of breath; unusual tiredness; unusual warmth or flushing of skin
Other side effects not listed above may also occur in some diseaseds. If you notice any other problems, check with your family doctor.
