Before Using

Allergic reaction

Pregnancy care

Peginterferon alfa-2b has not been studied in pregnant women. However, studies in pets have shown that peginterferon alfa-2b causes death of the fetus. Before taking this drug, make sure your family doctor knows if you are pregnant or if you may become pregnant.

Breast-feeding problem

It is not known whether peginterferon alfa-2b passes into the breast milk. However, peginterferon alfa-2b is not recommended during breast-feeding because it may cause unwanted effects in nursing babies.

Use for Children

Studies on this drug have been done only in adult diseaseds and there is no special info comparing use of peginterferon alfa-2b in child with use in other age groups.

Elderly care

This drug has been tested in a limited number of diseaseds 65 years of age or older and has not been shown to cause various side effects or problems in elderly people than it does in adults people.

Drug interactions

Heart or blood vessel disease
Hyperglycemia - high blood sugar
Kidney disease
Lung disease
Psoriasis
Psychiatric problems
Rheumatoid arthritis
Systemic lupus erythematosus
Thyroid disease May be worsened by peginterferon alfa-2b

Human immunodeficiency virus - HIV infection
Liver or other organ transplant It is not known if peginterferon alfa-2b will work in diseaseds with these conditions
