Before Using This Medication

In deciding to using a medication, the chance of receiving the drug must be weighed against the good it will do. This is a decision you will make. For pamidronate, the following must be considered

Allergic reaction

Tell your family doctor if you have any unusual or allergic reaction to pamidronate or other bisphosphonates such as alendronate, clodronate, etidronate, risedronate, tiludronate, or zoledronic acid. Also tell your health care professional if you are allergic to any other substances, such as foods, preservatives, or dyes.

Pregnancy care

Studies have not been done. However, studies in rats given higher doses of oral pamidronate have shown that the drug may decrease fertility, increase the length of pregnancy and cause death of the baby rat. You must avoid becoming pregnant while taking this drug. If you do become pregnant tell your healthcare professional as soon as you can.

Breast-feeding problem

It is not known if pamidronate passes into breast milk.

Use for Children

Studies on this drug have been done only in adult diseaseds, and there is no special info comparing use of pamidronate in child with use in other age groups.

Elderly care

When pamidronate is given along with a large amount of fluids, elderly people tend to retain - keep the excess fluid.

Drug interactions

Although certain medication must not be using together at all, in other cases two various medication may be using together even if an interaction might occur.
