How to Use

Nystatin usually comes with patient directions. Read them carefully before using this drug.

This drug is usually inserted into the vagina with an applicator. However, if you are pregnant, check with your family doctor before using the applicator to insert the vaginal tablet.

To help clear up your infection completely, keep using this drug for the full time of treat , even if your condition has improved. Always keep using this drug even if you begin to menstruate during the time of treat Do not miss any doses .

Dosage

• For treating fungus - yeast infections:
  • For vaginal cream dosage form:
    • Adults and teenagers One 100,000-unit applicatorful inserted into the vagina one or two times a day for two weeks. Or, your family doctor may want you to insert one 500,000-unit applicatorful into the vagina once a day.
    • Children Dose must be determined by your family doctor.
  • For vaginal tablet dosage form:
    • Adults and teenagers One 100,000-unit tablet inserted into the vagina one or two times a day for two weeks.
    • Children Dose must be determined by your family doctor.

Missed dose If you do miss a dose of this drug, insert it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.

Storage To store this drug:

• Keep out of the reach of children.
• Store away from heat and direct light.
• Do not store in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink, or in other damp places. Heat or moisture may cause the drug to break down.
• Do not keep outdated drug or drug no longer needed. Be sure that any discarded drug is out of the reach of children.
