Before Using

Allergic reaction

Pregnancy care

Mirtazapine has not been studied in pregnant women. However, this drug has been shown to cause death of the fetus in pets given doses many times higher than the usual human dose. Mirtazapine has not been shown to cause birth defects in pets.

Breast-feeding problem

It is not known whether mirtazapine passes into breast milk. Although most medication pass into breast milk in small amounts, many of them may be using safely while breast-feeding. Mothers who are taking this drug and who wish to breast-feed must discuss this with their family doctor.

Use for Children

Studies on this drug have been done only in adult diseaseds and there is no special info comparing use of mirtazapine in child with use in other age groups.

Mirtazapine must be using with caution in child with depression. Studies have shown occurrences of children thinking about suicide or attempting suicide in clinical trials for this drug. More study is needed to be sure mirtazapine is safe and effective in child.

Elderly care

This drug has been tested and has not been shown to cause various side effects or problems in elderly people than it does in adults people. However, it is removed from the body more slowly in older people.

Drug interactions
