If you will be taking this drug regularly for a long time:

If you will be taking this drug in large doses or for a long time, do not stop taking it without first checking with your family doctor. Your family doctor may want you to reduce gradually the amount you are taking before stopping completely.

Check the labels of all nonprescription - over-the-counter "OTC " and prescription medication you now take . If any contain aspirin or other salicylates - including bismuth subsalicylate " Pepto-Bismol ", be especially careful. Taking or using any of these medication while taking this combination drug containing aspirin may lead to overdose. If you have any questions about this, check with your health care professional.

This drug will add to the effects of alcohol and other CNS depressants - medication that slow down the nervous system, possibly causing drowsiness. Some examples of CNS depressants are antihistamines or drug for hay fever, other allergies, or colds; sedatives, tranquilizers, or sleeping drug; prescription pain drug or narcotics; barbiturates; drug for seizures; muscle relaxants; or anesthetics, including some dental anesthetics Check with your family doctor before taking any of the above while you are taking this drug .

Stomach problems may be more likely to occur if you drink alcoholic beverages while being treated with this drug, especially if you are taking the drug in high doses or for a long time. Check with your family doctor if you have any questions about this.

Too much use of this drug together with certain other medication may increase the risk of stomach problems. Therefore, do not regularly take this drug together with any of the following medication, unless directed to do so by your family doctor or dentist:

If you are taking a laxative containing cellulose, do not take it within 2 hours of taking this drug. Taking these medication close together may make this drug less effective by preventing the aspirin - contained in this combination drug from being absorbed by your body.

For diabetic diseaseds:

Before you have any medical tests, tell the family doctor in charge that you are taking this drug. The results of some tests, such as the metyrapone test and the phentolamine test, may be effected by this drug.

If you plan to have surgery, including dental surgery, do not take aspirin - contained in this combination drug for 5 days before the surgery, unless otherwise directed by your family doctor or dentist. Taking aspirin during this time may cause bleeding problems.

If you think you or someone else may have taken an overdose of this drug, get emergency help at once . Taking an overdose of this drug or taking alcohol or other CNS depressants with it may lead to unconsciousness and possibly death. Some signs of an overdose are continuing ringing or buzzing in ears; any hearing loss; severe confusion, drowsiness, or weakness; shortness of breath or slow or troubled breathing; staggering; and slow heartbeat.

This drug may cause some people to become dizzy, lightheaded, drowsy, or less alert than they are normally Make sure you know how you react to this drug before you drive, use machines, or do anything else that could be dangerous if you are dizzy or are not alert .

Meprobamate - contained in this combination drug may cause dryness of the mouth. For temporary relief, use sugarless candy or gum, melt bits of ice in your mouth, or use a saliva substitute. However, if your mouth continues to feel dry for more than 2 weeks, check with your family doctor or dentist. Continuing dryness of the mouth may increase the risk of dental disease, including tooth decay, gum disease and fungus infections.
