Before Using

In deciding to using a medication, the chance of taking the drug must be weighed against the good it will do. This is a decision you will make. For malathion, the following must be considered

Allergic reaction

Tell your family doctor if you have any unusual or allergy to malathion. Also tell your health care professional if you are allergic to any other substances, such as preservatives or dyes.

Pregnancy care

Malathion may be absorbed through the skin. Although it has not been studied in pregnant women, malathion has not been shown to cause birth defects or other problems in animal studies.

Breast-feeding problem

Malathion may be absorbed through the mother's skin. It is not known whether malathion passes into the breast milk. Although most medication pass into breast milk in small amounts, many of them may be using safely while breast-feeding. Mothers who are using this drug and who wish to breast-feed must discuss this with their family doctor.

Use for Children

This drug has been tested in child 6 years of age and older and, in effective doses, has not been shown to cause various side effects or problems than it does in adults. There is no special info comparing use of malathion in child less than 6 years of age with use in other age groups.

Elderly care

Many medication have not been studied specifically in elderly people. Therefore, it may not be known whether they work exactly the same way they do in adults people or if they cause various side effects or problems in elderly people. Drug interactions

Anemia - severe
Brain surgery, recent,
Liver disease
Malnutrition These conditions may increase the risk of some side effects of malathion

Asthma
Epilepsy or other seizure disorders
Heart disease
Myasthenia gravis or other nerve/muscle disease
Parkinson's disease
Stomach ulcer or other stomach or intestinal problems Use of malathion may make the condition worse
