This drug contains a mixture of 2 local anesthetics - - an-ess-THET-iks , lidocaine - LYE-doe-kane and prilocaine - PRIL-oh-kane. It is using to produce numbness or loss of feeling before certain painful procedures, such as injections, drawing blood from a vein, or removing small growths - warts, for example from the skin.

This drug deadens the nerve endings in the skin. It does not cause unconsciousness as general anesthetics using for surgery do.

In the USA, this drug is available only with your family doctor's prescription. In Canada, it is available without a prescription. However, your family doctor may have special instructions on the How to Use and dose, depending on the reason you are using this drug.
