Dosage

The dose of cocaine will be various for various diseaseds. It will depend on the reason a local anesthetic is needed and on the size of the area to which it is being applied. Your family doctor or nurse will apply the drug.

For mucosal-local dosage forms - crystals or solution:
- For causing loss of feeling before examinations or surgery:
  - Adults and teenagers Your family doctor or nurse will apply the smallest amount of cocaine that will produce the needed effect. The largest amount that is usually using is 400 milligrams - mg.
  - Children up to 12 years of age Use and dose must be determined by your family doctor.
