Before Using
In deciding to using a medication,
the chance of taking the drug must be weighed against the good it will
do. This is a decision you will make. For vaginal clindamycin,
the following must be considered
Allergic reaction
Tell your family doctor if you have any unusual or
allergy to clindamycin or lincomycin - Lincocin. Also tell
your health care professional if you are allergic to any other substances,
such as foods, preservatives, or dyes.
Pregnancy care
Vaginal clindamycin is using during the second or
third trimester of pregnancy. It was found to cause birth defects in one strain
of mouse, but has not causing problems in other pets. Vaginal clindamycin
has not been reported to cause birth defects or other problems.
Breast-feeding problem
It is not known whether clindamycin using vaginally
passes into the breast milk. Clindamycin taken by mouth does pass into the
breast milk and has not been reported to cause problems in nursing babies.
Although most medication pass into the breast milk in small amounts, many of
them may be using safely while breast-feeding. Mothers who are using this drug
and who wish to breast-feed must discuss this with their family doctor.
Use for Children
Studies on this drug have been done only in adult
diseaseds and there is no special info comparing use of vaginal clindamycin
in child with use in other age groups.
Elderly care
Many medication have not been studied specifically
in elderly people. Therefore, it may not be known whether they work exactly
the same way they do in adults people or if they cause various side effects
or problems in elderly people. There is no special info comparing use
of vaginal clindamycin in the elderly with use in other age groups.
Drug interactions
Although certain medication must not be using
together at all, in other cases two various medication may be using together
even if an interaction might occur. In these cases, your family doctor may want to
change the dose, or other precautions may be necessary. Tell your health care

family doctor if you have any other medical problems, especially:

Stomach or intestinal disease, history of - especially colitis, including
colitis causing by antibiotics, or enteritis Patients with a history
of stomach or intestinal disease may have an increased risk of side effects
including diarrhea
