Before Using
In deciding to using a medication,

Allergic reaction

Pregnancy care
Cisapride has not been studied in pregnant women.
However, studies in pets have shown that cisapride causes harm to the fetus.

or if you may become pregnant.
Breast-feeding problem
Cisapride passes into breast milk and may cause
unwanted effects in nursing babies, particularly if the infant or mother are
taking certain other medication. Be sure you have discussed the chance and benefits

Use for Children
Cisapride can cause serious side effects in any
patient. Therefore, it is especially important that you discuss with the child's

Elderly care

of cisapride. Cisapride stays in the body longer so the dose may be various
than in younger people.

Other Information for using
The presence of other medical
problems may effect the use of cisapride. Make sure you tell your family doctor if
you have any other medical problems, especially:

Heart disease

Kidney disease, severe,

Low potassium blood levels

Lung disease, severe Cisapride may cause an increased risk
of serious heart rhythm problems
