Before Using

If you are using this drug without a prescription, carefully read and follow any precautions on the label. For benzoyl peroxide, the following must be considered

Allergic reaction

Tell your family doctor if you have any unusual or allergy to benzoyl peroxide. Also tell your health care professional if you are allergic to any other substances, such as preservatives or dyes.

Pregnancy care

Studies on effects in pregnancy have not been done in either humans or pets. However, benzoyl peroxide may be absorbed through the skin.

Breast-feeding problem

Benzoyl peroxide may be absorbed through the mother's skin. It is not known whether it passes into the breast milk. However, this drug has not been reported to cause problems in nursing babies.

Use for Children

For children up to 12 years of age: Studies on this drug have been done only in adult diseaseds and there is no special info comparing use of benzoyl peroxide with use in other age groups. For children 12 years of age and older: Although there is no special info comparing use of benzoyl peroxide in child with use in other age groups, this drug is not expected to cause various side effects or problems in child 12 years of age and older than it does in adults.

Elderly care

Many medication have not been studied specifically in elderly people. Therefore, it may not be known whether they work exactly the same way they do in adults people. Although there is no special info comparing use of benzoyl peroxide in the elderly with use in other age groups, this drug is not expected to cause various side effects or problems in elderly people than it does in adults people.

Drug interactions
