Before Using
In deciding to using a medication,

Allergic reaction
Tell your family doctor if you have any unusual or
allergy to aminosalicylate sodium, aspirin or other salicylates,
including methyl salicylate - oil of wintergreen, or to other related medication
such as sulfonamides - sulfa drug. Also tell your health care professional
if you are allergic to any other substances, such as foods, preservatives,
or dyes.
Pregnancy care
In one study where aminosalicylates were taken with
other medication for tuberculosis, there was an increase in birth defects.
However, other studies have not shown aminosalicylates to cause birth defects.
Breast-feeding problem
Aminosalicylate sodium passes into the breast milk.
However, this drug has not been reported to cause problems in nursing
babies.
Use for Children
There is no special info comparing use of
aminosalicylate sodium in child with use in other age groups.
Elderly care
Many medication have not been studied specifically
in elderly people. Therefore, it may not be known whether they work exactly
the same way they do in adults people or if they cause various side effects
